We have plenty of thoughts! Figure this was a good episode to close out the year on. Are there any topics you would like use to cover on the shows in 2023?

An episode recorded in early August and released in late November? You betcha! We have a classic variety episode with Trailer Talk and Animation News AND Rapid Fire, the theme really seems to be... "it's all bad." Enjoy!

Two movies that could not be more different than one another, but somehow we found a way to thread them together. We talk about animation styles, tone, production, marketing, narrative, and a whole bunch of other things in the process of our discussion (featured image courtesy of Rob this week).

Nothing like recording at 8am to get the ideas flowing! Enjoy this perfectly coherent variety show. I took much too long to make the featured image this week fit a theme that I'm sure nobody will get at all but it made me smile

In this special Retrospective episode we talk about the original Beavis & Butt-Head shorts, the 90s series, that era of MTV animation, the movie "... Do America", the 2011 reboot, and of course the brand new Paramount+ movie "... Do the Universe!" Music and short clips have always been a part of the Beavis & Butt-head so I put a little extra time zhuzhing this one up... and a very special shoutout to Jayden Libran for providing the amazing Beavis & Butthead impressions!

We usually like to do these Trailer Talk episodes on a Live-Stream but we're not setup for that yet so enjoy this very visual episode of this audio show (links below)!

We're on a roll! A deliciously egg-washed, sesame sprinkled, enriched dough roll! Here's our review of "The Bob's Burgers Movie." We talk the usual: plot, animation, performances, treasonous acts of sedition, bad impressions, budgets... you know... the yoozh

Clocking in at 2hrs and 40min here is our next episode which, yes, was recorded on June 2nd and since then Seth Green bought his NFT back and the Rescue Rangers movie is just a figment in people's imaginations but it's a good show if I do say so myself! It's the first episode we've done since the start of the pandemic in person! We'd like to know if YOU can tell the difference and also very interested in what your feelings are on getting this as one episode vs being split up into two. Timestamps:

BRAND BRAND NEW EPISODE! We asked on Facebook what stories you wanted us to talk about on our return and there were some really great ones to choose from but there was one from Martin Bell that stood out to us: "What's going on with Netflix animation?" There's something about this topic that we keep coming back to but with the recent exiting of Phil Rynda and the layoffs which followed (we refer to this article from The Wrap quite a bit) it's back in the discussions. There's a very real situation at play with what makes us want to watch and keep watching shows in general but specifically animated offerings at Netflix versus other options on Hulu, Amazon, and elsewhere. We discuss the situation itself but use that as a springboard to talk about our viewing habits and what might be leading to our own animation series apathy. It's a fun time! #RubberOnionPodcast

BRAND NEW EPISODE! With the "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers" (2022) movie releasing today on Disney+ here is Rob and I talking about the very first trailer that came out. I know, I know... not exactly fresh, but knowing what we know now about what the next trailer brought and the impending movie review we're going to do it all works out. These first episodes back to the routine were really hard to get out the door for a lot of reasons that we'll share on Patreon but there's still one more episode to release today, so enjoy our "official return" (and wonder at the splendor of 3D ROB)! #RubberOnionPodcast

Here's ep 2 of our 4 ep drop today continuing with this episode from earlier this year published to Patreon (Originally uploaded Feb 19, 2022). We were releasing episodes there exclusively for the last year while dealing with some very busy times which now have cleared up and we can re-enter the fray! We actually recorded this "Masters of the Universe: Revelation" review episode back in Aug 2021 and then more work/life stuff happened to decide to take a break until 2022. We'll talk all about it in our next podcasts now that we're coming up for air. But fun story, when I opened it in February I remembered why it was never released... we didn't record an intro! We just couldn't get together to record one and it sat collecting dust, getting more relevant with age... that's what happens to review episodes right? So I woke up the next morning, recorded a quick intro, finished the edit, and put it up on Patreon with a promise that more were on their way. Now you're all caught up and Rob and I have recorded 2 more new-to-everyone episodes that I'm dropping now! Enjoy #RubberOnionPodcast
